Is it possible to replace life support and sensors with smaller modules?

Title question says it all.

In my Imperial Clipper, I have a class 5 slot for my sensors and life support.

I noticed that the crucial stats of a sensors array or life support (range and oxygen supply) are solely dependent on grade (E-A), not size (Class 1-8).

So is it possible to take a Class 1 Grade A sensors array or life support system and save some weight with it? Or are there any serious downsides?

Has anyone tested this yet?

For good reason. Air isn't gonna be breathable if you stick a tiny life-support system in a large ship. It's like trying to use a single window A/C unit to cool an entire office building.

The clipper is bugged at the moment, I have a 1A sensor module, but you aren't supposed to be able to fit undersized sensors or life support.

Technically though, the modules actual performance (O2 supply and sensor range) are identical across all the classes, the increased mass and power is just a cost that comes with the larger ships.
