Is it possible to strech the Kickstarter countdown?

Let's the say game makes it to something like 1.2 Million and is less than 50.000 from the goal away.. isn't it possible to stretch the Kickstarter for a few more days?

It seems kinda cruel to abort a million dollar project when only so little is needed. is there really no mechanism at Kickstarter to allow one week more for such emergency "95%" cases?

No - I'm afraid if the Kickstarter doesn't reach its goal.. FD gets nothing. The duration of the kickstarter can't be changed once it is up and running. Elite : Dangerous ran for 60 days which I think is the maximum amount of time that a Kickstarter can run.

Spot on Keeval, even if it was just £1 under target, the project dies, but c'mon that's NOT going to happen, Keep The Faith!!!! ;)

That's the rules of KS I'm afraid.

But...I'm sure that FD will have a backup plan if it dosn't make it (which it will).

I just REALLY, REALLY wish they had started the KS later. After christmas. I could up my pledge by a good 100 if it was any other time of the year. Its a real shame.

I still think its all going to be good (if squeaky close!).

Incidentally I think KS takes 10% of all pledges + VAT as a fee for running the campaign. That seems a little steep to me. Hopefully the paypal service will make up this loss to Frontier and then some

Kickstarter take 5% but I imagine a good 2.5% goes to their payment processors if the UK is anything to go by.

EDIT : Unless I'm reading it wrong then the fee's are on top of the 5% cut for kickstarter.

I assume the £1.25m will be including any KS fees. So whatever is left behind after the fees will go on the game itself.

I don't think we're going to have to concern ourselves with that; I reckon we'll hit the target with ease and have a sizeable paypal fund to be ploughed into the game's long term development. :)

It might give us a couple of squeaky bum moments :D but I'm confident we'll make it.
