Right years ago on Xbox I was a member of a player faction Predator Mining Syndicate, it's home was in the Njikan System the current owner of the faction and most of it's members have not been active for years at this point and I would love to revive the Faction on PC. Is there any way to make a new squadron and link it to the PMF?
Is it possible to take ownership of a PMF?

While players could request that named factions be inserted into the game those factions behave exactly the same as NPC factions, i.e. no-one is in control of them.
There is no restriction on whether a Squadron can affiliate with a faction, multiple Squadrons can be linked to the same faction (and none of them control it).
Any player is free to support any faction.

I think it's more accurate to say that nobody owns any faction. PMF or NPC are just labels as far as the behaviour of the in game faction is concerned. However players can control them using what is known as the Background Simulation or BGS for short. This applies to adopted factions PMF or NPC likewise.
It is always wise to check if a faction is genuinely abandoned before attaching a squadron to it, as the current adoptees may get a little peeved if there are any.
