To carry an SRV into space?

Me and a friend tried for about an hour to lift an SRV on the top of a type-9 into space... eventually you hit a weird barrier and the SRV always gets flung off the ship.

Has anyone been successful?

Hmmm... I haven't tried this myself, but try to fly the ship at an angle and have the SRV drive on it's roof... like driving uphill.

Yes you can. Someone has successfull put the SRV into an orbiting station with some help from a ship. There is no limit. You can fly from station to station and planet to planet and planet to station without using supercruise. It take a very long time though.
