Is it safe to actually launch from the gnosis?

Of course i didn't bring a combat fitted ship, never shot at a thargoid my entire life.

If there's dozens sitting out there it would be nice to see them.

Yes. I engaged a scout with no fines.

If you're talking safe from a "Will I get attacked by Thargoids?" No... not at all. At least 4-5 thargoid vessels when I first boot up an instance.

It doesn't even look broken. All that was there was one rescue asp and one tiny little thargoid taking pot shots at me.

Heard weapons fire outside the Gnosis while I was still in the hanger. When I eventually launched with was no fighting near the Gnosis. I jump into one of the persistent NHSS's out of curiosity and my radar was full of red blips. The 3D shield on my Krait popped within three seconds so jumped into supercruise and limped back to Jameson memorial.

As I understand it, the only real issues should be fixed now. The thargoids can shoot THROUGH the walls so you could get blown up right on the pad. They have been moved further away now (or so I've read).

The second issue being if you do try to do anything to defend yourself or others you get a fine and sent to a prison 1200ly away. That has been "fixed" as well (or so I've read).

Just leaving and going back home or looking around, then, should be a matter of being careful. I say should and so I've read because I'm not there and can't verify if for myself.

Apart from station services, there was nothing... gah dont let me spoil it for you.

The one puney little thargoid started shooting at me a couple of hundred meters off the landing pad, really close. There felt like there was no risk of dieing in my cutter, but without weapons there wasn't much else i could do except dock and log out.

Don't worry about spoiling it. I'm not there in the game either.
