Is it worth it to upgrade from an ASP to a Python?

I'd say no, for me the Python just wasn't fun to fly.

I went from an Asp to a Python a while ago, after saving for ages and really looking forward to it. The cockpit view is horrible after coming from the wide open glass of an Asp. All that lovely galaxy to admire, and you have to see it through a relatively tiny slit of a window. Big featureless slabs of cockpit dominate the screen whenever you look around. Landing becomes more difficult and less fun because you can't see anything below.

I persevered for about a week, then sold it at a considerable loss and bought another Asp.

I've got 3 ships, A spec trade Python ~ 150 mil for trading, missions, etc; A spec FAS ~ 80 mil for bounty hunting; stripped down AspX ~ 25 mil for exploration.

Each vessel is perfect for its task and when I'm in the cockpit I say to myself "Man, I love my ..."

The main money-machine is the python. The other two are for fun.

A heads up regarding the Robigo run , with the new updates most of the time you should shoot the interdictor to stop the scan and some npc’s are persistence so you have to destroy them, combat wise my money is on the python not the aspx speed won’t always save you

Python has the firepower to destroy 2 enemies jumping on you simultaneously the amount of maneuvering in the Aspx is close to a seasoned fighter
