I used the Anaconda for short range pirate killing missions for nearly 5 months now, and I have no idea if it's worth buying the F.C.
The Corvette has better potential shields via SCBs as the C7 and C8 got a huge boost. It is also has noticeably better maneuverability. It also has a good deal better stock shields and top tier weapon placements, and can ram.
However, the Conda is a much better hybrid ship (bi-weave shields) because it has much stronger hull (with HRPs in both ships). Also the Conda has a great deal more DPS potential vs smaller ships, and more DPS potential vs. the larger ones. The Conda is a better overall ship as the jump rage on the Corvette is horrible. It took me 4 jumps to go 13.7 ly in the Corvette for example.

If you hate hybrid builds and only plan on using it for short range large ship combat, go with the Corvette. Otherwise go with the Conda, as its the better overall combat/explorer/etc. ship.
Conda is free to buy, corvette has insane grindiness in ranks....
compared to the anaconda it has less armour, less firepower, less jump range, and worse hardpoint placement (except for the huge ones)... manoeuvrability is better, but not by much. the only reason to buy this ship is for the novelty value & I wouldn't recommend it to anyone
"dual C4 PAs will PP take out large ships much faster" - no, they won't: the additional huge plasma only does about 25% more damage than a large & for that somewhat dubious privilege you lose a large hardpoint
the smalls are fine but the mediums are i think spaced slightly further apart from on the anaconda

Tough one. I admit, I have a real marmite thing going on with my Conda, I specced it out for the Gunfight at the OK Kausalya and now .. I am on the impressed side for the moment.
For a start, a Conda can be set-up to run cool quite cheaply (this is in Conda-nomics) so drawing on an A6 SCB doesn't need a heatsink but don't fire your guns doing it. I can also stack it full of SBs and HRMs to tank it up. Lastly with a middling set up, on three weapon pips it will run continuously with all weapons at full chat.
It's all about the DPS, the Conda has large and huge placements top and bottom. I place two turret cannons on top and two turret bursts on the bottom, these are Class 3 boom-booms and they hurt. Sixteen rounds from the cannons will take a PvE Conda out. There are Class 2 side placements and even the Class 1 tiddlers on the rear can hurt. A Conda can lay down lots of fire from all angles. The 'vette has nothing at its rear and only one mount on its belly.
The 'vette has the big guns and this is the kicker, if the pilot can land two huge fixed PAs on their target....
