From a Norwegian point of view it has always been "La-" as in "last" and "-ve" as in "very". Lave. If it was supposed to be Lave as in save, then a Norwegian would spell it Leiv. Which incidentally is a fine saga name.

Wouldn't worry about pronunciation personally, maybe in your Elite universe it was pronounce Larve...All the pilots were born in Windsor or something...

Exactly the same for us Finns. Always pronounced it la-ve like you described.

I would guess accents would differ depending on home city and planet of the pilot. Lets face it here in the UK you could get a scottish person and liverpudlian and londoner to all say liverpool and end up with 3 very different sounding words

Nah it would sound like Glaswegian in that example, cos the Scot would have intimidated the other 2 til they said it his/her way
