Is JWE a glorified reskin of Zoo Tycoon Ultimate Animal Collection?

Wait.. because i just bought zoo tycoon, the new one that noone likes to play with my toddler.. and im surprisingly impressed.

I had no idea that frontier actually made this game.. nor that its basically planet coaster (very) lite with some arcadey animal and guest management. But im having a blast with it. Unlike planet coaster, there actually is a tutorial, and also unlike planet coaster, im succeeding at the campaign scenarios.

Anyway, it just clicked that jwe might not have come from planet coaster, but from zoo tycoon.

Also, zoo tycoon has an elaborate system of decorations and a third person foot view. And 4 little jeeps.

I think it's no secret that JWE borrows heavily from the Zoo Tycoon, conceptually. They are, after all, BOTH a zoo builder game. I'd hesitate calling JWE a reskin, though. It's much more than that. But I'd say that if you look at some of the features of the old Zoo Tycoon, you can get an idea where devs are heading with JWE.
