Is my comp good enough for elite?

So i bin playing elite for years on ps4 its koo but ive always bin jelly of the pc guys cuz they get hotass and voice attack and all the cool stuff anyway i dident know crap about computers but i learned alot and got a build going i know i can handle pancake mode bit can this bad boy do vr? Anyway heres my build

Gpu gtx 1660ti
Gigabyte B365M DS3H Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
And a samsung evo 860 2 tb ssd
Im ordering one piece a week so far i got the case the fans and the mother board so if i should change anything else please let me know

Personally I have never seen elite dangerous run on vr without glitches no matter what high spec machine (haven't tried on an rtx yet but I hear good things about ray tracing)
but as for will it work it should do as the recommended card for vr is 1080 or above as for cpu this game can get by on a very low spec quadcore, as for type of data storage
an ssd will do nicely

Do you have a particular hmd in mind? I'm running a vive on a 1070ti, and it's great but minimal headroom. So if you want to run a higher spec headset you may want to consider spending a smidge more on the gpu.

Everything else is fine.

Coolio. Let us know what you think of it when you get it.

VR is absolutely ace but I don't use it all the time. It's at it's best for combat and mining, but I switch to pancake for travelling etc... as I'll usally have Inara, EDDB, youtubs or somesuch open on the other screen.

So this will sort of depend on which VR solution you use as the resolution that your GPU must drive will have an affect on performance. Your 1660Ti is roughly the equivalent of a 1070Ti so it should be able to drive most first gen VR devices.
