This is my copilot.
16 pounds of demanding floof.
Late Thursday night while happily making my way coreward (about 10K LY from SOL), he demands that his food bowl be tended too. I was in the process of charging the frame shift drive and thought that I was a good bit away from the main star and figured things would be safe...
I return several minutes later to find my Asp at 150% heat. Things were breaking all over the place, I panicked and kept trying to fire a heatsink, but you cannot do that in FSD! After a few moments I finally get things calmed down and start appraising the damage. The hull is at 90% and the power plant is at 98% which is not too bad, however both AFMUs are fully depleted and some secondary things are still broke. Rather disgusted with myself I got to a safe spot and went to bed, planning on heading back to the bubble now that my AFMU insurance has been used up.
The next day I discover that there is a new exploration CG in progress and I have about 1200 systems scanned this trip. Being only 8-10 hours of gameplay time from the bubble makes heading back not too painful now as I did rather well with the last CG.
Lessons learned:
1. Never AFK in FSD charging mode.
2. Fill the cat's bowl before settling in for a long session of exploring.
3. get better AFMUs...
