Is my i5 2500k good enough for pc?

Hello everyone. At this moment i run pc with an average fps of 25. I always tought my gpu was my bottleneck so i will buy a gtx 1060 in the near future. Before i do so i want to be sure my cpu iq decent enough for pc. I have an intel i5 2500 k oc at 4.5 ghz. Gpu is a gtx 560ti 1gb i have 8gb ram and ssd. Will the new gpu improve my performance? Grtz

That OC should be more than enough seeing as a non OC'd i5-2500K is above the minimum requirements for the game. I wouldn't hesitate to update that guy in the future though.

I have an i5 2400 and was running the game on medium with an r9 280x (alpha 1,2) at around 45-60fps depending on the park size, upgraded to an rx480 8gb version and on Alpha 3 I'm running the same parks roughly the same so I'm fairly certain my CPU is causing this. However the game seems causing dips which muddies the water further.

I think in your case you'll be absolutely fine with a 2500k and gtx1060 until the parks get huge, but I imagine all but the very best computers will be struggling anyway.

Thanks for all the response!
Now i know what to do.
Changing the cpu won't be for the near future tough.. He still work's fine i think ( never issues with it).
My gpu also still works but is outdated, i might hold on to it if i ever need to make a simple pc for simple tasks :). A computer.. it's a moneypit :D

i have a Intel Core i7 920 (Socekt: 1366) @ 3.5Ghz, 12GB RAM and a GTX 570 and Planet Coaster runs smooth on Medium Settings without any issues.

I suppose you haven't used loads of items and your parc is not huge at the moment? I run most things on medium, some at low to prevent major FPS losses. I can play the game, no doub about it. But i won't say it's very smooth either. Your cpu compared to mine well.. http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-920-vs-Intel-Core-i5-2500K see for yourself. This meaning i won't have to worry about my cpu if you can run it smooth. Thanks for the reaction !
