Ships Is Panther Clipper coming this year, perhaps early next year?

Short answer: No one knows except Devs and they are not telling :p

Long answer: I personally don't expect any of the largest ships within the next 8-10 months since only 2-3% of players will be able to afford one so developers probably spending time on other things. Also I expect it will cause quite a few balancing issues so something they'd want to worry about later on.
Yeah biggest flyable ship, either that or the Federal Corvette / Imperial Cutter no one is sure yet since exact dimensions haven't been released. All we have so far is some concept art.

I was hoping developers would give an answer. And I agree with the rest.

From that perspective you might be right, however, on the other hand these 2-3% of players play ED much more than the others and this is the reason why they are already ready for the big ships. And releasing the big ships sooner rather than later would please them and provide more variety for the gameplay.

Thats a fair point I suppose.
To be honest in my head the sensible progression would be to release them in response to the Thargoid threat.

Lots of personal speculation off-topic:
I sort of had in my head this timeline of:
-Thargoids appear.
-Empire/Fedration etc attempt to hold their own territory and not working together.
-Release of biggest ships, Combat Coriolis stations and other cool content (I can dream right).
-Thargoids increase their weaponry too and/or just end up beating all factions
-Factions band together to try and beat the Thargoid threat.
-Factions win against Thargoids after significant losses.
-Everyone eats cake.
-Universe is reset for new round.

Not sure at all if this will happen but that would be the way I'd do it. Im still not sure on the whole storyline progression in the background which is why I've added that last point. I mean if we can "beat" the thargoids forever it kind of ruins it for new players, but being locked in an eternal conflict with no chance of loss/victory will make it meaningless.
my thoughts is that every 2-3 years they will perform a hard reset of the universe and player stats. Possibly offer bonuses for getting to Elite in the previous round or highest tier in Empire/Federation or belonging to the winning faction such as:

Elite Combat: Start the new round with a stock Viper
Elite Trader: Start the new round with a stock Hauler
Elite Explorer: Start the new round with a stock DBE
Highest Empire Tier: Start with a stock Courier
Highest Federation Tier: Start in Sol system with permit
Part of winning faction: Be able to access faction unique weapon on day 1 of new round.

I would say it is likely to be the biggest, but the Corvette and Cutter will be the better fighters, the Panther leaning more on a heavily armed trade ship.

I'm mostly wondering what variation on the space plane look it's going to be, or if it is a departure from it, being a ZPG ship.
