Is piracy effected by the recent changes?

As a returning pirate, I was just wondering if piracy has been affected by any changes in the last year or so. I know there's prolly still no money in it, but do people even trade in open any more?

Question for you open traders: When was the last time a player (not npc) attempted to pirate you? Just wondering how likely it is to actually find a trader in open these days lol.

TL;DR
How has piracy changed in the last year?
Do people still trade in open?
How often do you get interdicted by a pirate (not npc) while trading in open?

1 Yes crime and punishment makes it harder
2 Some are - but I am not of course - gamewise it makes no sense and no improvement of fun for me due to the current way it would work out.
3 Cannot answer that.
