Powerplay Is powerplay dead?

Just had a look on the galmap to check out undermining.

Never have I seen it with so many at 0% Undermining.

I can only conclude that the rise in interdiction difficulty is a big factor.

With this, I will assume that the new Powerplay faction, Yuri Grom (Cmdr driven) will eventually become the main power.

Not sure how this will affect anything.

What are your thoughts on this. ( If you dont care, please dont comment)

For me who has just resigned from Aisling Duval, Interdictions difficulty rise since 2.2 has ended My PowerPlayInterest. AD has no 'Combat Zone, so Undermining was really the only real interesting activity for AD, unless you loved to deliver leaflets or what ever.

I think i heard Sandie Samarco said that soon Powerplay will get some love and attention. It certainly needs it VERY SOON.

Yeah, I too have quit. Undermining was the only thing that used to be interesting, but the System Authority are way too powerful now and the interdictions are just awful. I hope that they rethink Power Play completely and give us some activities that are actually fun and rewarding.

Whilst i am having a powerPlay Moan, something else that really bothered me to the point of shouting at my screen/FD, was when in a Haz Res or High Res or any Rez/Comp Nav Beacon, you got rival Powerplay factions pop up at these sites that where CLEAN, but they targeted and attacked you (Whilst aligned to other PP Factions) and you could not attack back as they STAYED CLEAN even though they attacked you, who was also clean, so if you did defend yourself you became wanted, so immediately you became an Insta Target for security (Res site Dependant).

You only option was to get out!!!!!

Utter Nonsense FD

Just checking, but was your crimes against me turned off?

What Wasp0 stated is true, regardless of whether you have report crimes against me turned on. It also happens around stations, and can happen before you even exit the no fire zone. That was what killed PP for me, though the change occurred before 2.2 and has been that way for a fair while now.

Only reason I'd ever PP again with the current implementation is if some dumb players started overturning li yong rui controlled systems in systems with good loadout stock.

As Cyrgon quite rightly pointed out, makes not a jot of difference on or off!!

Yes. PP is in its end ohase for months now. No great expansion battles and nothing meaningful anyways. What does it matter if a system is alligned to a faction or not?

Players play PP for the modules and that's it. Why would someone care about some faction in the first place? Gimme your credits and modules and then let me alone.

2 words............ Prismatic Shields

OP, the real question would be "was it ever alive ?" IMHO. PP was a bad idea poorly implemented and never maintained.
But consider yourself lucky mate and think of all the CQC fans who can't even access the game due to a disastrous matchmaking and the lack of bots.
The end of season 1 was really a catastrophic move in terms of game design. Season 2 is better though (so far).

Still think FD stuffed up when they introduced PP. The passive bonuses (the stuff you get whether your aligned to PP or not i.e. 15% discounted ships/modules etc) should of only applied it you were actually pledged to that power. As soon as it was granted to everyone (pledged or not), those people (well, me at least) lost all interest because the PP specific modules were not interesting enough on their own (yes even Prismatic Shields...)

While I 'd still like to see them address this issue (if for no other reason that to watch the Forums combust :D) I feel it's way to late...

Indeed. Power Play was dead the moment it was conceived.

Repped - single most important reason I never touched PP - This is known as a lack of internal consistency - a theme you have to get used to in ED or, like I did, stop playing.

Such potential .. such a shame.

Bad design choices ... bad Frontier.

The problem with PowerPlay is that the second you sign up to a power, it puts a huge red marker against your name, that pretty much feels like flying around with a constant wanted level and a multi-million credit bounty on your head. It's just not fun being interdicted every time you enter supercruise or jump into a new system. Interdictions are random enough as it is, what with being stopped for my "big haul" of empty cargo space.

Interdictions should only ever happen if you are wanted, have a sizeable bounty on your head, or carrying a cargo worth over 10k in credits.

They should not happen simply because you're alligned with a group, that another group disagrees with, unless you are in some sort of active state of war with that particular group.

With a little tinkering, PowerPlay could be awesome, and actually give some real background to the bigger picture.

They doesn't are needed anymore since you can get any prismatic by improving an A rated shield...

Yes, i know that, but PS are better than Ordinary Shields Yes?

So Engineered Level 5 PS are Better than Engineered Level 5 ordinary Shields? Thats all i am sayin!

They need to link it into the mission system so you can do a variety of activities for your power in order to undermine/fortify/expand

Missions in yellow on the board.

Could even make them vastly more likely to have the rarer/most useful mission only engineer commodities as rewards for bonus points.

That'd take a lot of work, but I know it would get me way more interested in it.

To 100% drag me in though, they'd have to find some way of making the "geography" of the power map actually make a real tangible difference. Not sure how exactly, but hey, I'm no designer.

I really hope they manage to get this thing working a lot better, it has the potential to be the mid/late game content that would keep people interested and playing the game beyond having all the credits and ships they want.
