Is rare item profit related to distance of starport to its sun ?

I'm trying to make some efficient routes and am considering cutting some destinations where the starport is far away from its sun. I wanted to test if perhaps item profitability was related to distant starports.
I was in the middle of conducting an experiment with the rares bought from Hutton Orbital but the cargo was lost before I was able to sell it and determine the results...
I eeaaaaally am not looking forward to that trip again, can maybe someone experienced in trading perhaps fill me in a little ?

No it doesn't, profit is based on LY distance from the place of purchase. SC distance has no effect on profit.

It seems the highest payout is roughly 160Ly from point of purchase for any given rare. So the Hutton one isn't any more valuable because of the long haul from the navpoint. I'd forget about that one in particular. :D
