General / Off-Topic Is season 2 a 2 year season?

I was expecting back in 2015 that season 2 would cover 2016 and then season 3 roughly around the beginning of 2017. Seems like season 2 is dragging along.

I think most of us, me too, were so naive to expect 1 season to equate to 1 year.
In game development delays happen.
Nothing anybody, including FD, can do about that.

I have no idea how long Season 2 will take to finish.
I let FD worry about that. I just play the game in the meanwhile.

I hope so. Power Play failed hard since it was implemented too quickly, so did several other features like asteroid mining. Slowing down the pace allows for more quality.

I'm not going to bother looking it up - but I seem to remember a new patch every 4 months - it was one of the selling points to Horizons - then when the first patch fell threw people were worried about follow on content schedules. Something to do with the release date of planet coaster coinciding with patch dates for E.D.. Then Frontier put out a notice that both games are independent from each other and their would be no influence from one game to the other as far as dates go....

I digress.... It is what it is. Nothing we can do about it now.

Seriously, them taking their time with features would be the best thing to happen to Elite. If they are doing well financially, they really should focus on quality rather than pushing features out with minimal implementation.

While Engineers isn't a complete failure I could write a long essay about many terrible choices done in both the planning and the execution of of it.

I think it was always meant to be 1 year, though I think they chose Season, instead of yearly pass, as it gives FD a bit more flexibility. Flexibility that they have used in light of the delayed release of 2.1.

I have a hunch we are going to get a crush of updates at the end of the year but, if not, I'd expect it to bleed into Q1 with Season 3 starting Q2
