Is space a concern?

Im worried there isnt going to be anywhere near the scale needed to truly create a proper park. Looking at the demos its about the same space as a theme park. Ideally id like the whole island to build. If a dinosaur breaks out I want to have to fly my chopper over mountains, through valleys or over forests to get to the dino and subdue them. It looks like youll only have to fly afew hundred meters before you get to them.

I see some people in the forums want to create the original park but its going to be impossible. Maybe theyll do it in zones around the island? Maybe it will just be small but I wanted big! If it indeed has the islands in the game, i want to see them! Id like to get out there and have long transport routes for the visitors. Id like there to be vehicles on tracks for track rides but it all just looks abit small.

What does everyone think? I fear we just wont get that sense of scale that Jurassic World and all the other movies had. Looks great everywhere else btw! Good job devs!

No, you won't have the whole island. In reality building a park on single area of land is pretty realistic. Cause having to develop land and make it suitable for building something like a theme park would take a lot of money that could go towards something else that is more needed. Looking for a suitable patch of land and using it is a better idea than trying to make a less suitable location into a suitable one.

I was thinking about this just now, when people were criticizing the game for lacking other attractions like rides and so on. Given the fact that we will have limited space I don't think having a lot of stuff like amusement rides would be a good idea cause all they would do is take up space. Space that could be used for Dinosaur enclosures. If there are rides they should be all about the Dinosaurs and getting guests to see them. I wouldn't want to waste a lot of space on things like a Roller Coaster or something like that. I would much rather have an enclosure with a Dinosaur in it. People can see amusement rides anywhere all over the world no matter where you live, they came to your island to see Dinosaurs not a tilt-a-whirl. I have been to a Zoo and I don't remember seeing a whole theme park section full of rides.

To the OP:
Isla Sorna the biggest island will be bigger than a planet coaster map and that's pretty big, certainly big enough to build a park with everything and every species in it.
There is also Isla Nublar that we can unlock and I estimate that to be of the same size as Isla Sorna.

What you ask about the transport routes that will not be in the game though.

Don't forget a lot of this game isn't to build the biggest park you can on an island, but to utilize as much as you can and use different islands.

I am kind of wondering now if we can transport Dinosaurs from one island to another. I think FD needs to make this more clear to people, that it's really just one big park across 5 islands.

It would be a shame not being able to transport dinos across islands. It's been hinted that the more fights they get in the higher infamy they have which increases their rating. It would be nice to move a higher rated dino from one of the earlier islands onto a nice fancy new park you are trying to build. Would also give the player some kind of attachment to the dinos. Kind of how fans have grown attached to Rexy in the movies

I'm not sure we will be able to do that, in the interview I believe they said you can go back to a previous island when you unlocked a dinosaur to incubate it there.
Well that's how I remember it anyway, I have to watch it again to be sure.
Anyway I hope we can do it, after all that's how they brought the dinosaurs on Isla Nublar after they grown up on Isla Sorna in Jurassic park.
Also because it will be important to play the five islands to get the five star ratings on all of them.

I agree with you, I hope we will be able to move them.

If you look at the Matanceros gameplay, the limits are where the cliffs and thicker jungle start. It simply is not practical to build on the edge of a stormy island where particularly strong storms could potentially break away chunks of your island (fences and dinosaurs are at risk here), and clearing think jungle would be financially straining on any project. Sure, they could just make the islands bigger, but then where is the challenge (not to mention the Jurassic Park canon)? The point of JW:E is not to build one park on one island, but 5 linked parks, spread out over Las Cinco Muertes (again, these islands are established in the lore, so let's not just make them bigger and change their geography, okay?).

However much I would love to have a flat, somewhat square island like in JPOG, I am happy with being given the opportunity to build on the actual Five Deaths and Nublar. I am also not going to think too hard on the subject, seeing as it is still quite possible that JW:E has a sandbox mode with enough space to build a massive park (Jurassic Park: San Diego anyone?) :D

I hope you can not. Where would the grace be? If you transport the most popular dinos from one island to another, you will automatically increase the rating of the island without making any effort.

That would be too easy. The challenge must be to start from scratch on each island and increase popularity with what you have on an island where you are.

I think that would be a great management feature to have as it would add a gameplay connection between the different islands.
There could be more of that. For example one might build one central management HQ building on one of the available islands. The island that gets this building will get some perks etc.

But you will also decrease the rating from the island you move them from.

If you managed to complete the island that will not matter. You can always complete the current island and return to the previous one transporting the dinos and continue with the triumphal cycle. In the game only the island on which you are working matters

This would ruin the game it would make it extremely easy.

With this I do not want to say that they do not put it, everything that is to add is welcome, but in my case I would never do it.

I didn't look at it this way, I was more thinking about the five star rating for every island to unlock Isla Nublar but yes it would be to easy to get the three stars to unlock the next island this way.

BiS showed the largest Rollercoaster tycoon map in a vid yest iirc to show the scale and that is pretty damn big tbf.

Does that mean you can theoretically only work on one island at a time? I imagined that if you opened up all the islands that you would need to run them simultaneously.

I think the other islands pause when you are working on one.
It would be very hard to keep up with all the islands at the same time.

Yes. It also makes sense, it is impossible to manage 5 parks in real time. It will go island by island keeping the progress of technologies, dig sites, dinosaurs ... but you always take control of the island in which you are while the others will remain "frozen" until you visit them again when you want.

I do not think it's a difficult game, they'll let us build and delight us with what we do, its graphics, observe the dinosaurs .... That's the grace, it's about enjoying quietly.
