Is that fair Frontier?

After month I decided to play planco again, then I bought the last dlcs spooky, adventure and studio. I paid 33€ for all.
After looking for the new items i searched my favorite one „Glass“ walls. The glass walls with no borders.

But here starts my frustration again, thank you frontier!
So what’s happening? Like I said above I searched for glass walls. Therefore I clicked on the building menu, then I open the filter and clicked on material/glass button.

But where is the glass wall?????

After a few seconds of searching and frustrating I tried again by typing glass on the search bar in the building section. And tadaaa there is it!

So what the hell is going on with you dear frontier??? These problems exists in the vanilla game before and still exist in the latest dlcs.

So what is the problem in the development process to finally implement all objects correctly with a few tags and the right filter?
Omg i am 33 years old and I don’t understand why a big company doesn’t seems to see things that everyone else is seeing!

Something should happen. The object management should be redefined from scratch. If you are to fool, then open the game for modders and let them do things that are normally your work!
Modders would doit for free, better and more fast than you could you! Shame on you frontier, shame on you!

I just wanted to remember what I wrote at the beginning. I paid For it and I’m expecting something for it!

Thx for reading and sorry for my hard critic, but I’m no one for honey words.

Wanna hear something really unfair? You didn't have to buy those DLC packs to use the glass panes, they were patched into the base game for free. [big grin]

The glass panels are supposed to be used as windows. where are they? in the windows section.

I agree the tags and some of the filters aren't really done right, but as far as the glass panels go, I think they are in the right spot.

Yes i agree, especially the border between buildings and scenery is very thin as a lot of items have overlap.
If it was up to me both tab's would be merged into 1 and then simply have more sub-category's.

The advantage would be this :

I quite often use the search bar returning 0 results because im searching in the wrong tab. If everything was moved into 1 it can no longer happen and i will always get what i need right away :)

Who cares as long as you can find them? I like the simple way things are indexed and have never really had an issue with it. *shrug*

Yes maybe as windows but its material is glass, that’s a fact and by the way people using maybe windows as wall for their creations!

So if frontier might think they handled right by tagging as windows is not enough. I’m sure when they create and save their objects in the database the last process should and must be a few good tags and the clear implementation in the right category.

MOD, MOD, MOD and even if they won’t open all api‘s they could open the UI because there is potential and better ways for handling the interface

Why not making something right from the scratch? There casual gamers that are stupid enough to not thinking like us

You can just type "glass" in search box, as you did... things are never too far away. It's not a show-stopper issue, but there's definitely room for improvement.

The more I play this game, the more I make custom collections of things into blueprints to pull into my projects. For example, I have a blueprint containing all tall trees, all shrubs, in fact a blueprint for every nature item, all art shapes, windows etc.. so I don't need to use the browser to choose a tree, I just bring the nature blueprint into park and choose from that.

It's MUCH more relaxing choosing a tree or rock or whatever this way when it's right there before you in the park instead of a tiny thumbnail in the browser. This would be my tip for new players and all players... make yourself a few custom blueprint collections if you want to avoid the browser - which does make me anxious when I use it too much. You can't avoid the browser completely because you need it to add building pieces to existing buildings... I really wish we could merge or add building pieces that are in the park, to other buildings instead of needing to get the piece from the browser.

you know how many times i’ve had to search more than 1 time to find something? a couple dozen

Ok my mistake, but it doesn’t change the problem i explained.

Alright, fair enough. No pun intended.
I do agree with your statement that the arbitrary split between the building and scenery menus is a weird choice and the tags and categorization are kind of a mess. It has been stated over a dozen times and community efforts were made to suggest feasible and concrete improvements. None of which were truly addressed by Frontier by the way, apart from the empty "thanks for your feedback, we'll look into it" template. In some ways the situation has actually worsened since parts of the new (payed!) content are also poorly and inconsistently organized.

However I don't think that it is right to imply that making design mistakes and being unable to fix them, is "unfair" to paying customers. It is sad that the community doesn't get the change to improve the game's shortcoming with mods, yes, but you can't blame Frontier for that. We are not entitled to mod tools or fixes; we did get what was advertised and what we paid for. The game is fit for purchase, it is working as intended, kinda, and the paid content packs do indeed include new content.

I have to agree with Vampiro that it'd be far easier to have everything in one big tab rather than the two split ones - especially with the number of items that are scattered between the two (like lights) or some items that now appear in both! Then we could search everything at once.

Something I would love to see is simply the ability for us to add our own tags to objects. Some of them are not named what I'd expect them to be, and if I could just pop my own tag on there, problem solved! (Like if something's called a "bin" but I'm searching for "trash" or "trash can"... and I think I remember some animatronics being called "cowboy" and others "western")

...maybe our own tags on blueprints, too? Too much? :)
