Is the Adder TOO good?

Only if "power" is relative to it's role. A B-2 costs some twenty times as much as an F-22, but the F-22 will win a dogfight.
vs a b2, sure, vs other fighters, such as the f8, I doubt it. to be fair though, the f22 was built to be a ranged intersepter, so I can understand why it would not be as good at dogfighting. but also I do think that its outdated in the modern world.

ether way, the adder is decent from what I have seen, its more for pirates and smugglers then anything, but I do think that the eagle is missing something as well. perhaps its that these ships requre way too much money invested in upgrades to be worth while, but I do think that lower cost ships lack quite a bit. and I am not one to think that larger ships should always be better.

The Eagle does have a plausible in game reason for being a little sub-par. It's ancient.

Anyway, I think ED ships are remarkably well balanced for their intended roles and relative costs as they are now. Also, the Eagle isn't really a smaller ship relative to something like a Viper (it's only about 20% less massive and has vaguely similar dimensions), just a cheaper one.

I also think the ships are well balanced for their roles.

I would just like to see something between an Adder and a Cobra. Not sure if any new ships will be added that fall into that category.

Great little ship the Adder apart from the visibility that really annoyed me! as to something between an Adder and a Cobra try a stripped out Viper (2 C1 weps) with a fuel scoop to sort the range issues and you have a fast light cargo ship give it a try.

Say what you will about the adder's looks, there ain't another small ship in the game that can take a C2 gimballed beam
and 2 railguns without overheating in a second.

I struggle to fight anything smaller than a cobra with that load out, but asps and dropships just melt, and they tend to have bigger bounties anyway.
