Is the Basic T.rex skin supposed to look this way?

Yesterday I got my first T.rex and was expecting a plain brown T.rex, that I know from the movie. When it released I was bit confused because it had the same stripes the alpine skin has with a strange dull red that really looks weird to me. Has it always looked like that? It's strange bacause I think I have seen it without the stripes in a gameply already. Maybe this was put in accidentally in a patch.

This is pretty weird because I got my first T-Rex the other day... and it's default skin doesn't have those reddish brown stripes? [weird]

It also happened to me but I discovered how to eliminate it. It is a bug of the game. Try changing it skin (without incubating it), then you put back the basic one and test it. This time it will come out as it should.

The second image works for me. I think it's likely an issue with Imgur since their update. Having the same issue with older and current embedded Imgur images on the Elite: Dangerous forums as well, which is definitely a bummer for some of the pic-heavy threads such as the top link in my signature.

I will give this a try, thank you.

Edit: this worked!

Yeah, I put it elsewhere too trying to help the op ;) Guess Imgur are finally cracking down :p

I heard it was something with low genome? Not sure if it's true or not. Someone else posted the same thing, and one member wrote it was because your genome was too low. Sounds a bit weird, but who knows... :)

I had a 100% Genome, so that shouldn't be the case. ^^ I only breed 100% Genome dinosaurs, can't shake that since I adapted it in JPOG :)

It was me who said the genome haha. I was wrong with that. In the end it was solved simply by changing the skin and putting back the basic. For those who do not know, if you create a T-Rex with its basic skin without touching any modifications, that rare T-Rex with reddish stripes will appear.

Now we know how to solve it, waiting for Frontier to fix the error.

Changing the skin and then putting it back to basic worked for me thank you :) I even saw the red striped Rex on the developer sctream, but this should be a easy fix, right?
