Is the CronusMax Plus a cheat/hack for PS4?

I recently came across a situation in a CQC group where a player was saying he had been killed with one shot while shields where a full and he claims he had 4 pips to shields. At first I said that it must be a glitch as you cannot cheat on the PS4 (I didn't think you could)... However, it turns out that the player who shot him was using a device called a CronusMax Plus. This player stated as such and even posted a link to the device in the PSN chat.

Apparently this CronusMax Plus usb device can allow the use of ANY controller on PS4, which sounds great, but can also allow you to create macros, such as rapid fire, where 1 shot can be turned in 99shots, and you can program multiple combo moves into the press of one button, while also allowing you to use things like keyboard and mouse.

This to me sounds like cheating on PS4 and appears to give the user of the CronusMax Plus an unfair advantage over other players, where a player can almost one shot people in CQC and maybe in Open PvP (using the 'rapidfire' mod).

My question is for both the Devs, and the community... Is everyone aware of such a device? And is the use of this device deemed to be cheating/hacking, or is it regarded as accepted use?

The device won't allow you to perform anything that actually changes game mechanics - you could only fire those 99 shots as fast as the game would allow it anyway. Someone with a fast enough trigger finger could replicate the same. It can't, for instance, make a railgun fire any faster than it already can.

Anything that actually causes a gun to fire faster than its in-game stats would be hacking, but that doesn't do that - it certainly wouldn't be a legal device if it did.

It's a little dirty for console but no different to the hardware and macros available for PC.

Macros can only work if Fdev coded the game badly...
Not sure how this can work any more..
Button bashing/auto fire can only work if the game is able to process thousands of DS4 button presses in a single second...
So that would equal a DS4 being active buttons 100s in a single second...

As many weapons can't fire that fast that can't work for them...
Auto fire is fixed rate buy the polling rate of USB and limits the number of Shots per second as does the sample rate of the PS4 game that scans the activity on controller input...

Many weapons have A wind up and delay action that don't work with macros as there fire rate is fixed... Does not matter how fast you hit the button the weapons won't fire any faster...

There has to be a single weapon that has no charge up and single activation per press... for macro to work

SIE has allready licensed Macro and Script emulation controllers via legit licensed deals even if there was no chrono max there are other controllers...

All are SIE licensed...

Polling rate and Input contoller scan is set by the developer in the SDK refresh rates as well as the in games animations for fire functions...
