Is the DK1 still supported?

A friend of mine is going to borrow me his Oculus DK1 and all I'm reading about here is the DK2, I hope the old one hasn't been forgotten

Its not forgotten, but 3 year old tech wont really give you a great experience anymore It might still give you a "hint" of what VR brings, but lacks
in every important metric we now take for granted even with they now ancient DK2.

no, it is not supported any more,
with a huge amount of hacking you can still get it to work, but barely

I tried the Oculus on Gamescom, Valkyire Demo and it was amazing. I bet DK1 wont even be close but who would turn down a chance to try VR a bit more?
