Is the Elite Dangerous Folder supposed to be 85GB?

It apparently is paused in the middle of the update. My disk space is used up. I think Elite Dangerous was using it up. How big is you r folders? Has something gone wrong with mine?

if you have both EDH & EDO installed, then yes, could be about that size. Still downloading EDO myself.

I looked in the steamapps folder. I think I might still have the public test server version installed. Didn't we have to install a separate version for the EDO alpha? That folder is about 45 GB. Sadly, I am redlining on my little 250GB drive. I am not sure if that is even the problem. I might have just uninstall it and reinstall it. I don't think I can disable or remove the test version until it is finished patching, which it can't finish because the drive is full.

Ironically, I am right in the middle of shopping for a new computer.

Thank Bravo17. I did delete it. I also had the Test server folder from the last horizons patch in there too. That was about an extra 20 GB. Deleted that too. Lol. So that's about 65 GB freed up.

FYI: Used a nifty program call TreeSize to see where my storage problems were. Used the free version.

I also have a problem with the installation so if no one objects i use this thread also:

If i uninstall the ED and reinstall it to annother steam folder will it keep my game progress or do i need to start as harmless?

Your progress is tied to the CMDR, so you won't lose any progress as long as you use the same accounts.

Hi , Stealing a bit the topic. same issue here, and my C: is full. I cant find where / how to select the install Dir. Maybe I shall desinstall everything and reinstall the launcher to another path? Any help welcome, thx !

So with all this talk of 85 gig installs I'm racing my download moving various steam games over to another drive - because I have the Frontier strandalone version of the game X'D I'm just moving the red bars around really X'D

I did have Launcher on another partition of drive, and it did not touch C during installation (not that I notice). That means yes, changing folder can help.
About size, there 2 folders in Products. One Is Elite Dangerous x64, and another is Odyssey x64. Now I wonder if we could delete first (about 20G), if not planning to use Horizons client...

I'm using the steam launcher and my game folder is close to 120GB, so I guess the Odyssey Alpha is still installed and I see no option on how to remove it.

Inside the Elite Dangerous folder, there is a Products folder with another folder named PUBLIC_TEST_SERVER_OD (44,6GB). I guess this is the alpha client, but how do I get rid of it? Just delete the folder and Im safe?

I purged 6 copies of various versions of ED yesterday when it filled my system drive with Odyssey, a drive it should not have been to start with. Of those 6 2 were on the drive it was initially installed to and 4 on my system drive, 2 were Steam versions (one each drive) and 4 Frontier versions that I use for the last great many years. I gained lost of free space while installed Odyssey along with Horizons.

Well, finally desinstalled everything, reinstall in a another SSD with lot of free space, and only Odyssey.
Works like a charm.
