Is the game worth buying with a sequel coming out?

There exists a possibility that I might get an Xbox Series S from a friend at the end of the summer. I have the first game on the Switch, but I've always wanted the second game. With a new game confirmed, I am a bit hesitant to buy JWE2. So I have a question for those who already have the game: All things considered (completeness, playability, etc.), would buying JWE2 before the sequel is released be a good idea (assuming we don't hear more, or at least significant news about the third installment)?

It is best to play Jurassic World: Evolution 3 before making the final decision.
Yes, that is my general approach, but this question is more asking whether people believe that the current game is complete enough to the point where a sequel wouldn't make significant changes.

Before Jurassic World: Evolution 1, I play Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis. Even though Jurassic World: Evolution 1 came out, I still play Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis. After trying out Jurassic World: Evolution 2, I stopped playing Jurassic World: Evolution 1 due to numerous improvements. Nonetheless, I now play Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis once per year. There is no telling what Jurassic World: Evolution 3 will have. Honestly, I still find the dinosaur cohabitation element in Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis to be better than Jurassic World: Evolution 2.

I get your point, I'm simply wondering if people feel like JWE2 satisfies a reasonable amount of requirements for a park builder, or if they believe that some more changes need to be made because they have already played the game.

I would like to see these changes in Jurassic World: Evolution 2:

  • Huayangosaurus and Chungkingosaurus being able to cohabit.
  • Stegosaurids dislike Dracorex, Stygimoloch, and Pachycephalosaurus.
  • Pachycephalosaurids can mutually cohabit with ornithomimids, hadrosaurids, and ceratopsids.
  • Torosaurus and Triceratops being able to cohabit.
  • Camarasaurus and Apatosaurus being able to cohabit.
  • Diplodocus can mutually cohabit with Camarasaurus, Apatosaurus, and Brachiosaurus.

I agree with you on pretty much all of these. One of my biggest issues with the game is that animals that lived with each other in the past don't because they qualify as the same family of animals. At least social requirements can be turned off.
