Is the Gender of the Offspring based on the Genetics of the Parents?

My Red Kangaroos already had Offspring a few Times but they are always male, so I wondered if it is something hidden in the Genes and if it would help if I would get another male. It's a little bit frustrating if they are always male and never female

Some species have different ratios of genders. For example, Giant Pandas (in planet zoo, not in real life) have mostly male babies, and African Buffalo have mostly female. Most are 50/50 but kangaroos might be skewed towards more males.

I haven't noticed a pattern in the genetics to mirror which sex was born but if there is one at least we are able to deduce it from the accessible gene blocks for fertility. It looks like they have made some changes to the genetics since the last major patch as when they first made some of the genetics visible a full 3 pairs of genes were passed down from a single parent every time with the odd mutation .. now each pair is a mother/father gene pair with an equal chance at mutating.
