Is the lore in the FE2 gazeteer considered official canon?

Some bits have survived, such as Alioth's past as Fruitcake and the genetic enhancing program instigated by the Empire there. Some divergence does exist between the gazette and tourist beacons that are available today as sources of historical records.

Ackanphi, Enaness, Extila, Liaququ and Quphieth are in the gazette but didn't make the transfer into the game. The rest can be found, and are still relevant today. Quince and Ross 128 come to mind.

Quince "made the transition", but is not in the original canonical location. In FE2, Quince was orbiting a red giant star situated in the heart of Imperial space, just a short jump away from Achenar and Facece. I think placing a red giant near Achenar would have created a real-world-sky-as-seen-from-Sol problem, so they solved the problem by moving Quince far enough away that you can't see it from Earth now. Unfortunately, it's also far away from the rest of Imperial space now, as well, a fact which ought to be recognized in any reintegrated lore. I made an attempt at such a reintegration in my old Outback Systems thread, by having the original Quince giant star go nova and the residents evacuated to their new home.

No brown dwarf in the Wolf 630 system either. A shame, as the views from the surface of the world that orbited it were quite spectacular, but not very realistic given what we know about the amount of nasty radiation that comes out of those things.
