Yes the ability to sort by most recent would be nice.

You can, more or less do that. It doesn't give you the date released sure but sort by position (top right) puts in order of most recent added or in some cases, changed. (eg. some COVAS got a relaunch when Carina released).

Have just done a refresh sort like that and I'm getting a Fed Gunship Squadron pack come up in high position.
