Is the various factors that keep the animals happy so restrictive that it hinders creativity?

If you look at the Zoo & Aquarium Associations there is something that is called the 5 domains; choice and variety in diet, choice and variety in health, choice and variety mental state, choice and variety environment and choice and variety behaviour (to be that species). I think if how I've read the dev post having Zoo Industry professionals behind them they are most likely using this framework which means there are rules to your animals welfare but the limit on creativity of how its delivered is endless.

I wondered the same, actually. It's fine with me if animals need certain space and a certain amount of grass. What I'm afraid of is, that they will, like in ZT 1, only take this and this shelter and this and this plant and get upset if I put one rock too many. I really hope it wouldn't be that strict.

I think, if it's using the pxp building system from planco, it cannot function that way, as you would need to build very specific enclosures from scratch to keep animals happy.

I'm really interested to learn more about how habitats are designed. Will every enclosure require fences? Can water be used to separate the animals from the guests, for animals that will not swim? Can rockwork be used as fences instead of physical fences?

I know that newer habitats in zoos often use rockwork or other natural looking separations to keep animals inside their habitats, which has the benefit of looking more appealing to guests.

I agree Joel, mockrocking is what its referred to I'm not sure how it will work to keep random textures looking nice or if they will make walls similar to the adventure DLC in PlanCo. For the water its referred to as a moat and I really hope some animal enclosures can use this, however I wonder how technical. For example Spider Monkeys usually are on moat islands in zoos however some indidivuals can learn to swim with this there are very detailed specifications most people dont realise being a non-climable wall on the exterior of the moat at a certian depth and the inner moat needs to be claimable in case a monkey was to "fall in". Some zoos also use a dry moat with hot wire at the front of the exhibit which makes it appear there is no fence when looking into the enclosure. It will be interesting to see how far they go with this.
