Is there a basic tutorial for coaster building?

I just purchased the early bird access today, I love it but when I tried to start building my first coaster I didn't get very far. Is there a basic tutorial somewhere just for how to do things like starting an uphill section, that sort of thing? I'm embarrassed to have to ask but hey, we all have to start somewhere right? Thanks for any help you could offer.[uhh]

Tutorials will be added when the game is complete, the alpha is intended more for people who already played the previous game (but not necessarily). There is a thread just a few below yours about this very topic, you can find advice there. Hopefully somebody will make a video sooner or later.

Best advice is, start simple and small. Make your station, start with a chain lift which goes up just enough to make a few hills. Just make a few hills, each one should get slightly smaller than the previous one. Connect it and your done. For more advanced stuff like inversions you need to learn how to control/balance your speed and height differences.

I really hope the developers are listening to this one. A well made, coherent tutorial will be needed to get newcomers into the game. I think one of the best tutorials ever made for a creative game was Stephen Fry's tutorial for Little Big Planet. A truely wonderful tutorial that slowly built up your skills.

I apologize that I am not actually answering your question. When you begin your hill section, click the 'chain' button, that should produce a lift-hill (if that coaster has a lift hill that is). Tinker with it a tad and look at others playing around on youtube.

Warm regards,
R.
