I fly with a HOTAS myself, but long experience in Alleigance showed how big a quality of life improvement it is to be able to centre the virtual joystick (mouse cursor) with a single click.
With the long frameshift travel times in Elite it's very much needed. If this is already a thing, please let me know what the binding is called. Asking for friends and loved ones.
