Is there a connection between heat signature and turret tracking?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but i actually dont know this. If i would slap an emissive munitions effect on my turrets, to increase the targets signature, would that improve the tracking of my turrets?

tracking is not as good as it should be.
emissive ? dos that radiate more or less heat?
if more heat then it would be your aggressor will track you more easily. obviously other way round less heat would mean they would find it harder to track you

emissive greatly improves gimbals and turret tracking.

i tend to have 1 emissive hardpoint on all ships which have turrets or gimbals.
