Is there a limit to how far you can travel?

I tried to travel to Adara, because it's my daughters name. It's about 450 LY from Sol. Once I got into the Hyades and Col sectors about 275Ly from Sol, there were no more stations and NONE of the systems had scoopable suns. The galaxy map didn't show any affiliated stars, there was just a wall where they stopped. (screenshot).I ran out of fuel with half a mil worth of rares in my hold and NOWHERE to refuel. Has anyone else tried to go REALLY far? What's the furthest anyone has gone? Screenshot_0011.jpg

Players have been to the centre of the galaxy and back. You need to check for F,M,B,K,A or G class stars along your route. All these are scoopable.

Here - This vid will help you avoid running out of fuel.
I Just show the important basics of the galaxy map including star classes - FOG KBAM (Phrase to remember for scooping) ;)

As for distance, many have been to the center of the galaxy and beyond (That's 20,000ly one way!)

I've been to the top and bottom of the galaxy also..

I'll check that system out for you and let you know if it is possible to get to.

Also check the direction where you go. The galaxy has "arms" that have more stars in them than the areas between the arms. There may also be other gaps that are too wide for you to go across.

Oh - I've just noticed you were in 'MAP VIEW' switch to 'REALISTIC' view and follow my video guide, you may still be able to jump to a scoopable star!

Yes, you're on MAP VIEW, with SHOW BY COLOUR: ALLEGIANCE mode set. You've applied a filter that is only showing populated (ie. "aligned") systems.

As Nutter said, switching to "REALISTIC" view will show star-shaped stars. :)

Alternatively, switch to "SHOW BY COLOUR: NONE". That will switch to a general/default mode that looks like it colours the systems by star type.

I'm 62,500 light years away, out on the very edge of the galactic rim on the far side of the galaxy. There are literally no more reachable stars ahead of me to jump to, just black intergalactic void. So yes, there is a limit on how far you can travel, but its a loooong way away. :D

(I'll post a video of what is out here later today) :)

Well I followed the advice here, thank you, and I DID finally make it to Adara. My daughter was thrilled. But i still didn't see any stations for the last 250 Ly. Are there stations only close to Sol or do they show up again farther out?

As you've discovered, you can go anywhere in the galaxy, but currently Humans have only populated a few hundred LY around Sol. It is, after all, a big galaxy, and only year 3000-something. Beyond that, the game is in its infancy and thus not developed enough to have aliens or whatever populating the rest of the galaxy, though in reality they're probably out there.

EDIT: Your daughter should be thrilled that there's a star out there named after her. Get a telescope, find it in the sky, show it to her. In RL.

They're trying to match the game's Milky Way to the real one as much as possible.
