I just had to ask the question.
The facts are shouting out to me.
On 29th Nov. 3304 Achilles Corporation starts an initiative to collect robotics and microcontrollers resulting in 9 Mio tonnes of components from all over the Galaxy concentrated in one place.
Two weeks later the Overlord Zarek Null is ready to activate his new robot SAI-4, equipped with cutting edge technology in sentient artificial intelligence.
Far be it from me to suggest that Achilles Corp. has an active involvement in this. I have no prove for it whatsoever and no reason to think that AC has done anyting outside of the law and accepted business standards.
But for an Overlord of Zarek Null's capabilities it should be easy enough to place one of his men into AC's service without knowing them and the prospect of getting tonnes of hight tech equippment passing under his nose just as his Tinman project reaches the critical phase, must be very tempting to him. How easy to pick out some rare and high-performing modules and route them away into different channels.
Again, I have no prove whatsoever of this. But if I were a manager at Achilles, I would order a review of the inventory or run (or re-run) background checks on the staff in the Incoming Goods Inspection team.
