Is there a list of what all the instances do

Has anyone done a list of what any of the instances do, because now we have so many and I cant remember all of them.

We had the original USS, but now we have high and low intensity combat zones, strong and weak signal souces, debris fields, checkpoints, distribution points to name just a few that i have seen.

I just think a list would be useful.

Start making one! Thing is... I found quite a lot of instances, that just have ships milling about... They don't do anything except give some context.

Well Conflict Zones are pretty obvious, along with Military Strikes. SSS are pirate or traders mainly the only ones that we don't quite know for sure are RES Sites at the moment. USS can have anything from waste to pirates, same with WSS, although WSS has more smaller fodder through my experiences.

Thats a good idea and I also love the Andromeda Ascendant, my Imperial Clipper is named after one of the ships in that series (+rep if you can name the episode it's mentioned in). Imp Courier was far better in FE2 and FFE though.

USS = Mostly combat orientated(Wanted, Traders that are about to be robbed, etc.)

Weak Signal Sources = No ships, just loose cargo. Could be any commodity but it will be listed as illegal because you picked it up floating in space.

Strong Signal Sources = Big ships. Could be friendly, could be enemies(Mostly enemies/Anacondas/Pythons).

Low, Mid, High Intensity Combat Zones = It shouldn't be all that confusing. Low = Lower rated ships and skill levels. Mid = Mid tier. High = High tier ships and skill levels.

Checkpoints = Purely RP. You can skip them. They're just system forces who will scan you at the checkpoint, something you can miss entirely.

Distribution points? You mean Selling Signals or whatever they're called? They're pretty much for pirates to pirate these sellers for their high tech goods.

High Intensity Wake = FSD to another system.

Weak Intensity Wake = Drop out of supercruise at current location.
