Is there a more modern guide to "sidewinder to andaconda in 24 hours"

The purpose of the video series wasn't to highlight the most efficient method for getting from the starting boat to the big yacht (as even at the time, there were more efficient methods). It was to highlight some efficient ways of making credits so starting players could find some fun yet lucrative activities they may not have considered before.

As someone else mentioned, long range smuggling has become another method that has popped up since, very profitable and some players find it fun.

To summarise:

Steal kills from security in RES until you can A grade your FSD.
Then head to Robigo and do shadow deliveries.

Will all change on thursday though.

You need to be quick. You have three days before everything changes. if you don't stop, you might just be able to get three Anacondas before then.

There's no question that the fastest way to make money is by doing the Robigo Shadow deliveries or similar. If you have between 5 million and 30 million, use a T6. As soon as you get 30 million, get an Asp.

And, why would you want to play the game this quick? Its not all about big ships, the most money. Thats like eating your favourite food in one gulp without tasting it, or drinking a pint of beer straight down in one go. You just don't get the taste it, and its a waste of your money. Same with playing a game too quick.

I've never grinded for anaconda - however I did a couple of high-paying smuggle runs to afford a fas and python. Let's face it - if you play relaxed you don't earn enough dosh to get anywhere. If I play normally then earning more than 4m a session is a good session.

Grind for Anaconda. Realize later just how much content you missed that is aimed at Commanders in smaller ships.

Is there a reason you want an Anaconda in ten hours? You know there is a whole game there other than just "getting the biggest ship" right?

The funny thing is, the Conda isn't particularly fun to fly, and it doesn't open up any new gameplay or content that you haven't seen in previous ships, so why you would want to ruin all sense of progression for yourself for a ship for which it isn't worth doing baffles me.

Agreed, Anaconda is big and spacious but fun it is not. I got one couple months back, using the sidey to annie vids as a guide, realised that it just wasn't as fun as the other ships I already had. The videos are worth a watch though, not sure why you feel they are so out of date? All the trade routes it gives you are still most profitable and BH tactics still valid. Plus worth a watch even if just for the editor's sense of humor.

Whilst the Anaconda isn't the best ship for everything, it does do some things very well. The main point is that if you have lots of money, you can buy whatever ships you want and do whatever you want. Personally, I think it's a lot of fun just making money. I have 10 billion, and after Thursday, I'll be looking for all the new ways to make money quickly. There's nothing that you can't do when you have money that you can do without it, but there's plenty of things you can't do without money than you can if you have it. I can't understand why anybody would not want to have it.

the challenge. it is great after a reset or with a new account to make your way back into an vulture/AspE. behind this point (for me personally) it is nice to have more CR than you can spend ever. solution obviously is a second/third account for regular reset :)

i can't stand a playstyle like in that videos personally, but i like them because they are testing things to a max - like pvp does, or buckyball racers.

But you need at most around 5 million credits to do everything the game has to offer. For bounty hunting, all you need is a properly fitted Viper to take on any Elite ship in the game. It will also get you a smugling cobra and of course you don't need even that much to start trading. Exploration can be done just fine in an Adder or Hauler, and for mining a type-6 will work well too.
After that, all more money does is make things easier and faster, which generally speaking tends to make things more boring, so all that's left is the satisfation of unlocking things and being more efficient. But surely there's no satisfaction in unlocking things if you just powergrind through them?
