Is there a shortcut to turning flight assist on and off without going into the systems screen.
Or is there a way to set it up a long press of one of the buttons and D pad

I believe its set up to Context Menu Y+RB bu default/Classic control scheme

If not you'll be able to find out what its set up as in the Controls Menu in game as well as being able to re-assign it to something else

You can set it to anywhere you like with the key mapping function. I have it set to down on the D-pad.

Ive set up my FA On/Off (Z) as a toggle in the game controls.. also chaff ( for me is Left alt) as another example..
I also have Throttle settings 25%(key 7)..50% (8)..75% (9) 100% (0) and 0% or Full Stop (X)
You can totally customise any of your controls from the Game Options Controls section..
The only drawback I have found was after FDEVs added the menu dropdowns..things are buried you just nead to look carefully

I remapped mine to the dpad down since I never use it to balance power anyway. Works really well when in intense combat as the power mapping is right beside.

I changed the FA toggle to Y+left stick click. I keep the Y+RB/LB combos for heat sink and chaff... although I cant remember right now where I put silent running

There are quite a few extra button mapping options that can be used with the sticks and previously unused button combos too, such as LB+RB (zero throttle for me).

If you want see all the combos you have currently set, just hold one of the A, B, X or Y buttons until the context help menu shows up.
