Is there a time limit between 1000ly explorer missions ?

I completed a 1000ly explorer mission, returned to base, handed the data in and my explorer rank was upgraded, I immediately set out on another 1000ly mission, completed, returned to base, data credit received but no increase in Explorer Rank, Is there something I'm doing wrong ?, is there a time restriction between explorer missions ?.

It's more likely that the requirements for the next 'promotion' are more than you acquired on your second trip is all.

for example

10 = rank 1

100 = rank 2

1000 rank 3 and so on.

There are guides around to tell you exactly how much you need for each progression however but, in layman's terms, this is the general jist of things. HTH o7

To clarify. The explorer rank indicator doesn't "creep" along relative to tokens handed in, it only moves up once all the tokens for the next rank are handed in ?.

On my Main account that been out for when the SRV came out. Is heading home. I doing Advance scans and if I look at the system see world worth scanning I scan them. I hope to hit Elite when I get home.

The % of the explorer rank can have a delay after completing long range passenger missions. Most times it will be applied when making a restart of the client no worries, you'll get your increase, it just can take some time
