Is there a way i can fix lag?

Hi, I have a problem with Planet Coaster. It lags, sometimes it even becomes unplayable. Sometimes it freezes and more of these things. My park has I think over 10 rides and. 2,500 guests. When I start a new park it runs smoothly, but when a few rides and scenery are placed. It begins to lag. When I look away from it, it stops. If I look at I t, even if something is in between it, it lags very bad. Rollercoasters lag the most, example if I have a rollercoaster in the right top corner of my park. No matter where I am if I look a bit into the direction of that corner it's like 5 fps. I tried putting graphics on low... didn't help. I tried deleting some things such as scenery.... didn't help. I deleted files from my PC to create more space. But that didn't help. I really want to fix this because this sometimes keeps me from playing Planet Coaster. Other games run good but this one not.... [cry]

Something you could try:

I see your screen resolution is 1920 x 1080. Try dropping this down so that your card has less work to do.

If you go into Settings-->Graphics on the main PC screen you can see the resolution you are on. If your settings are set to "borderless", changing this to "Full Window" which will allow you to change the resolution to a lower setting.

Also make sure that you haven't ramped up the other settings. I have a reasonable graphics card (NVidia GTX660) and most of my settings are low or off. The game still looks fantastic and I can have over 11000 guests, 10+ coasters, more flat rides and I get few to no lags (I do get the odd "sticky bit" when I ride a coaster but not so much as to ruin the game). Oh yes - and I can have all this at night with the lights on!

Hope this helps.

Big Draco's suggestions may work for you, though note that your GPU only has ~1GB of VRAM when the required minimum is 2GB, so that may explain the issues.

So in answer to your original question, if Big Draco's suggestions don't work for you, then you will need to upgrade your PC.

The minimum requirements can be found here: https://support.frontier.co.uk/kb/faq.php?id=292

Do you mean dropping the resolution down in Planet Coaster or my PC? And wich settings? I can't really find it on my PC...
And I guess that with "Full Window" is in the game?

He's on a Laptop (Mobile graphics chip) so upgrades are out the window.

Either lower settings or accept that a Laptop cannot run such a demanding game.

Big Draco and gregorburns are referring to the in-game graphics settings. You have to open the game settings, go to the graphics tab, switch the screen to 'full screen' (instead of borderless), and choose a lower resolution on the same tab in the settings.

You can find the game settings in the main menu (with the globe), its accessible using the gear icon.

Like RockandGrohl said, it is indeed a laptop (mobile graphics chip) which means that upgrading the graphics card is not an option.

Alright, thanks. But I don't get that laptop part. My PC doesn't look like a laptop and you can't close, charge and do laptop things with it. I also have a laptop. That laptop has a very bad card that can't run any game well. Do you mean my PC has laptop graphics or is a laptop? Because it can run big games such as ARK: Survival Evolved well... My laptop can't even run big games.
Am I not getting something......?

while your computer isnt specifically a laptop its one of those all in one computers (MOBO integrated into the screen type) so you really cant upgrade anything like a normal desktop computer.

Basically if you want to get better performance you need to get a better computer or an actual desktop that you can upgrade stuff easily

I didn't look up the model number but was focused on the graphics chip only. It appears that you have a so called all-in-one computer. Unfortunately, it's not possible to upgrade your graphics chip in most cases for all-in-one computers. I'm not sure about your specific model; that goes beyond my knowledge.

I just found what has been slowing down my park.

I have 2 transport rides in my park, the monorail and the steam train. When I stopped the monorail to edit its rail, I noticed a slight improvement in my FPS. I then stopped the steam train too, and I noticed a huge improvement in the FPS. The game has changed from almost impossible to play to quite acceptable. I have about 5,000 guests in the park.

FPS when both transport rides are running: 3
FPS when monorail stopped: 5-6
FPS when both were stopped: 12 to 13

My rig:
Intel i5-3570K overclocked to 4.2GHz
16G DDR3-1866
Display card: GeForce GTX970 with 4GB RAM, overclocked (GPU 1366MHz, RAM@3700MHz)
Windows 10 64-bit

Hope this info could prove useful to others.
