Is there a way of defense against powerplay coming to "what i call home"?

i'm out in the dark, and it will be a week or two, before i come back. but i see clouds of three or four powers around my homebase, where i stored my fleet, where i flipped some systems from feds, feudals, pirats and theocrats for liberty and freedom. now the first systems 25 ly away get under control or are getting prepared. (when i left, pp was 60-90 ly away.)

will there be a way for me to stop* this? (for rp reasons mostly...) with or without taking part in powerplay?

a) WITHOUT TAKING PART IN PP
- flipping systems to goverments which the politics of that power is weak against?
- pushing the systems into civil wars or any other state with make a takeover for a power difficult (is there anything like that?)?
- ...?

b) WITH TAKING PART IN PP
- choosing a power at the very other end of the bubble and undermine all approaching factions?

- or do i really need to pledge to one of the powers which fits me best ---

any suggestions/ideas? (being in the dark you have some time making plans)

Outside of PP you can influence any system the same as before. The PP related changes to a system can only be affected within PP.

Beyond the annoying ''Is exploited by'' marker on the map and in the stations services, as well as the arbitrary percentage modifiers to stuff, there doesn't seem to be much else that changes. Which is lucky, because AFAIK, there is no way at all to combat the spread of exploitation without taking part in PP.

No you can't stop them but, if you see any commanders in the system fell free to shot them down and yell on chat:
Get off my lawn!!!
Bonus points if you use a frag cannon. :D

so, from a practical perspective, i should take a pledge to a power far away and undermine all activities close to my home? valid effective strategy?
