is there a way to quick fit your ship

so I decided to jump back into ED, thought doing some mining. My python was battle fitted, so I needed prospector/collector limpet controllers/refinery and of course mining lasers. The station I was parked didnt had any of those, so I went looking for any extraction/refinery/high tech systems in the neighbourhood. The first system had only prospector controller, the 2nd system I visited didnt had refineries, the third system I visited had refineries but only class 2's, okay whatever, I fit a 2A refinery into a class 4 slot. Meanwhile any system I visited only had small mining lasers, now visiting the 5th system in a 100 LY radius for some medium mining lasers. Meanwhile Im 2 hours further and Ive still have to shoot my first rock.....

you see where Im going with this, would be nice if you decide to "blaze your own trail" that you dont need a better part of your day looking for stuff, or is this what FD calls "gameplay"? Im now pretty close calling it a day again.

I agree with the OP, the existing system seems very awkward. But with the new module storage system you should be able to access any modules you have from one station, if you have bought and stored them first.

As above the only error on your part is randomly looking about. You want to hit up High tech systems.

My fav is Diaguandri and very local to that, Lembava. Together they will have all you want and at a nicely discounted price too.

What he said. Diaguandri and nearby Lembava have a great selection of modules at a discount. I made Diaguandri my home system for this reason.

Not just High-Tech systems, but well-populated ones. In my experience, any HT system with over 50 million population tends to have most, if not all, of the upgrades I need. Hope this helps.
