I was adjusting settings while installing a new joystick after the 1.05 update, next thing I know, the screen displays a confirm account deletion screen with only an ok button and no cancel. I assume the joystick was entering commands because my hands were not on the mouse keyboard. Now when I log in, it wants me to create a new commander. Is there anyway to recover from this? I have put in a support ticket with no response, and have not touched the game since this happened. I'm hoping they can just unflag the save file deletion marker on the server.
Is there a way to recover a commander save file?

It would probably benefit them to add an "undelete" for these types of things in the client so as to relieve their support desk. Since this game only has one save file, if something like this happens, it could really ruin the experience for the user. Probably wouldn't take much programming as it is just removing a delete flag in a database.
I do so love these blithe statements.
