is there a way to tell if I have previously visited a system?

I think I know the answer to this already (no!) However just in case I am missing something.

I ask because I am exploring the area and wondering if there is an easy way to stop me revisiting places I have already been.

I can't use a pad and pen easily as I use the rift.
