Is there an official FD response to this Odyssey fiasco?

Excepting the various ‘Hotfixes’ I’m guessing the answer is ‘No’...

But why not? Surely FD need to recognise the parlours state of their most important update and address the issues (and hopefully solutions) in a way that their customers (us) can get on board with.

The response has been the hotfixes that haven't fixed much, an apology from Braben, and a promise of a patch by Thursday followed by the CMs trying to pretend all is well.

They're in complete denial mode at this point. Either they're denying reality because they still can't accept the launch has gotten this bad (which explains why they still keep paying streamers to show off the product despite a stream having 5 crashes in 20 minutes), or they really just treated this whole thing as a cynical cash grab from the start.

Braben posted an apology (sort of, it was titled that way, mostly a post about how it works on his home PC), and we have 2 thread for feedback, one for performance and the other for the UI.

CEO David Braben made a couple of posts.

There have been a few hotfixes but Frontier acknowledged there are some big issues and a roadmap of how they're going to sort the problems is coming soon.

It is uncommon to apologize for your decissions in business. You apologize for the customer to feel unhappy with your product (what Braben did). So i won't expect anything more than that. On the other hand, there has been much salt and whining besides well written and staright-to-the-point criticism, which will surely be left uncommented.

No, they're not in denial. You can't even say they're not communicating. Do you have any idea how rare a David Braben post is on these forums? He is taking it seriously (a huge dip in share price will do that). If you think Frontier are in denial about what's wrong with Odyssey and in denial about the community's reaction ... you don't know Frontier at all.
