Ships Is there any better true fighter?

I've been flying my Vulture now... well since they first were introduced (after the price drop of course).


I've tried a little of everything else, but just haven't found a ship that is as pleasing in a dog fight as the Vulture.


I know the FdL is out there, but is it worth upgrading to?

Since I'm mostly a pew-pew type, getting those funds will take a bit of time. I'm not a trader or an explorer, nor is my Vulture fit to do so.

I would easily put both FAS and FDL above Vulture. However, nothing beats Vulture in a relaxing pew-pew gameplay. Just shut off the brain, and let the spinal cord to handle the matter

The FAS is a lot better than the Vulture and well worth the grind for the Fed rank. It's almost as agile as the Vulture, but has 150% of the firepower with no power problems, so you can upgrade the (better) modules to the max.

Hmmm, a couple of (semi) convincing arguments but in my (2000+ hour) experience, nothing beats the feeling of killing everything in your path in a ship which on paper shouldn't stand a chance. Vulture every time for me and although the FAS and FDL have their good points (sold my FDL, couldn't get on with it) the Vulture, in my opinion, reigns supreme as a combat vessel for the gung-ho pilot.

Vulture is a great dog fighter.

FAS with g5 dirty drives is also an amazing dog fighter.

I don't find the FDL as much fun as the other two but it can certainly hand out more fire power and has the shields to out tank most things.

In my opinion, there is no better value for money combat ship than the Vulture.

For 20 million you get a very capable package with a low rebuy that can dish out decent damage and is very agile. A simple grade 1 power plant mod for one unit of sulphur solves power issues.

So when it comes down to value for money nothing beats the Vulture for combat.

Sure, a FdL or FAS might be better, but they are also a lot more expensive.

The only issue of the FAS is the paper shields. At least for me, I tend to get in the middle of the fray and go banzai which is not good for the poor shield generator.

The problem I see with the FAS is the fact I need to grind rep to get to CPO, and the approximate 40 million space bucks to make it viable. And as someone already mentioned, the Vulture shields are nearly 2x more powerful.
