Is there any chance for Player Instituded Stations and Settlements?

So i've decided that Elite Dangerous is great, and I want to play it more. That's great to me. But I'm about to do my best on a life long in-game journey to explore everything I can in-game and hopefully before I die. I'm Twenty-Six Years old now and Elite Dangerous is a 1:1 recreation of the Milky Way so I might be playing for as long as the game is up and running and still not meet that goal in time. I was thinking about the areas where basically no players go, and I thought "Yeah, I'm going to go there. Heck, I'll go everywhere. That's a good idea." So yeah, I was thinking that the Devs could add a way for us to colonize planets with Settlements (Custom or not.). Or at least rent to own our own empty settlements and/or space stations. Of course, this might already exist, I don't know. But basically, all I want to do is set up space stations and settlements to make my travels a little easier in the PLAYER-NO-GO areas. Is this possible? Maybe. Would it be cool as heck? Definitely.

If you want to make your "travels a little easier", a Fleet Carrier is the way to go. For all intents and purposes it's a mobile space station, with all the same services that a station would provide (minus missions, Frontline Solutions and Apex Taxi)

Player owned settlements and stations would only make sense if they came with a proper "colonization" themed expansion (think of player owned space in EVE Online). I don't see Elite moving anywhere in that direction.

Fleet Carriers sound epic! I'll look it up thanks!

Thanks for the info! I currently have a little over 8 million credits. So I just gotta get to work.
A "fully loaded" Carrier with all optional services purchased will cost 6.75B Cr., with a weekly upkeep of 34.95M Cr. Sounds like a lot, but the game offers ways to earn the necessary credits.

Oh no, i'm not gonna panic. Just gotta work on getting a Fleet Carrier.

And you must have just missed the trade community goal that finished this morning. Profits of about 330,000 credits per ton moved. Start in a small ship and end up with a big one plus loads of credits. Watch out for these in the future.

Alright, so I gotta work a lot more than I thought. I'll stick with building up my credits for now. Planning and Prep are half the Journey.

Fleet Carriers exist for this purpose of serving as player bases, and they're mobile.

It would be nice if as a part of BGS the minor factions would organically colonize new planets and systems, building new stations/settlements though.
