Is there any easier way to use the galaxy map?

Its completely awful in VR... cant select anything except wildly.

I mapped all the movements to various HOTAS axes. You just need to get the blue crosshairs near the planet you want. The menu navigation keys also work, so that's how I select the search bar to find which system to go to. Hopefully, they'll put in bookmarks to make things easier.

Here's a crappy video I made showing how I navigate the galaxy map. It's from a year ago, so it'll look out dated.

I find getting the star you want as close to the middle of your view as possible and close as possible with your pointer the same distance from the star on both eyes and then rotate your head around the star and the thingy pops up and you can select it.
The main trouble i am having is that i cannot see any details of objects in galaxy map or system map, as the details window goes by what you look at not what you have selected a real pain in the bottom and needs to be changed.

Holding down Z will focus on your target while using either galaxy map, system map, or planet map. So i use wasd to move my target (blue circle) then hold Z to bring up the options for the target.

I also find it easier to get as close to the destination as possible look straight at it and with the mouse pointer also on destination with slow head movement highlights it nicely. One thing i found for the first time last night was the ease of which I can select the station now. Haven't even attempted to select a station for months as it was impossible without setting up the buttons on my stick to navigate for me that is a big plus +1 FD nice implementation finally
