I assume you met one of the, shall we say, less classy pilots out there. Some fools will kill you because this is the only way they feel good about themselves. Just imagine them with that "forever alone" face in their basement, feeling cheaply pleased that they thought they made your few minutes of dealing with them match the lameness of their every day. I pity them really, that's such a sad pathetic existence.

No. But it really doesn't hurt the sidewinder player, either, free ship and all (except for cargo). But, you gotta be pretty lame to purposefully kill one.
