Is there any more to come?

Look, before I get started here, this is not a rant ok, I do enjoy the game, I started day one and paid the extra to get in on the Beta, and I am playing the game happily ..........but, and here is the bit, is this all there is to the game.
I haven't got the biggest cargo craft yet, and I haven't even been very successful at mining, but there has to be more .....right???? The longevity of any game comes from being able to do loads of different things all within the same game world, I played WoW for 6 years, it changed every day for me. ED is worrying me, because, although I am desperate for it to be a long term obsession, one that is rewarding in game-play, I just cant see where it will come from.

The future doesn't look exciting, purely repeating the same stuff over and over again. Where is the excitement of change and real exploration going to come from?

This is not meant top be a bummer post, so please somebody tell me there is more out there, not just more of the same??/

We don't have an official roadmap of any sort, but the devs have clearly stated that release was a beginning more than it was an end, and development will continue. Vast amounts of gameplay have been detailed that aren't in game yet. There's no guarantee it will get done, but it seems a good bet that it will.

Well, I know soon they will be expanding multiplayer features. Planetary landings later in the year. Player made missions. I'm sure I'm missing some stuff. This is a long term development.

First thing out of the bat is improved co-op trough more specialized wings feature. I hope this will come together with improvements at matchmaking system.

Second there are numerous improvements in current professions, and new one - passenger transportation. We already have one ship specialized in this sort of role, just need passenger cabin modules.

That's just what we know for sure.
