Is there any other way to get the midnight skins?

I believe they are both 'you already owned Season 1' bonuses, rather than preorder bonuses, so you should be okay.

I'm not totally positive about that, though, so maybe someone else could give a more definitive answer (though official Frontier ones seem to be thin on the ground).

'Midnight skins' is a purely pre-order bonus. You don't have to own season 1. Only those pre-order Horizons, regardless of if they have season 1 get the skins.

Cobra MKIV requires the ownership of season 1 but does not require a preorder.

Every Commander who pre-orders Elite Dangerous: Horizons before Tuesday December 1 at 6PM GMT will get an in-game black paint job pack called Midnight. Don’t worry, all Commanders who have already pre-ordered Horizons, including those with the lifetime expansion pass, and those with Horizons beta access, will also be given the Midnight paint job pack.

I'm pretty sure everybody will have the amazing opportunity to get these "once in a lifetime" in game upgrades. It's just good marketing to make them seem rare or limited.Make you want them more. I rarely notice paint jobs, Just ship design.

Knowing Frontier they will bring it back in some form, even if it is one you need to buy in the store. Who knows though till Frontier confirm. :(
